Pope: Threatening the Iranian Nation Is Unacceptable

The leader of the world's Catholics emphasized that attacking civilian infrastructure is a violation of international law.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Pope Leo, the leader of the world's Catholics, declared that threatening the entire Iranian nation is unacceptable. In a media interview, he emphasized that attacking civilian infrastructure constitutes a violation of international law and that the war against Iran is unjust.

A few days ago, in his annual Easter message delivered before thousands of people in St. Peter's Square, the Pope had also called on world leaders to end the raging conflicts in various parts of the world and to abandon any plans for power expansion, occupation, or domination.

The Pope, who is a critic of the war against Iran, expressed regret that people have gradually become accustomed to violence, surrendered to it, and grown indifferent toward it.

He called for an end to hostile actions and added, "Let those who hold weapons lay them down, and let those who have the power to start war choose peace."

The leader of the world's Catholics also, in an unprecedented move, addressed a direct appeal to Donald Trump, the President of the United States, urging him to find a solution to end the war against Iran.
